South Bristol – Dawn (Rochow) Seymour, July 18, 2017, peacefully at home, overlooking Canandaigua Lake, at age 100.

She is survived by five children, Bill Balden, Sam Seymour, Elizabeth (Rob) Merrill, Margie (Mike) Morse and Amy (Kevin) Moran; eight grandchildren, R.J. (Amanda), Yvonne and Charles Merrill, Bow (Ally), Fred (Libby) and Emma Morse, James and Merritt Moran; great-granddaughter, Finley Dawn Morse; two sisters, Dorothy Finerty and Phyllis (Peter) Poulous; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husbands, William Balden in 1946 and Mort Seymour in 2003; and four siblings, Joan Parker, Frank and Richard Rochow and Ruth Debevoise.

Dawn was born in Rochester. She earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in 1939. Dawn was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and was a B-17 pilot in the WASP Program.

She received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2010, for her wartime service. A memorial service to celebrate her life, will be held Monday, July 24, at 4:30 pm, at Third Presbyterian Church, corner of Meigs St. & East Ave., Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National WASP WWII Museum, P.O. Box 456, Sweetwater, TX 79556.

Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua and they published this obituary.
