ames Bryant Bozard went to be with Jesus on July 19, 2017 after suffering a heart attack. He was 92.

Mr. Bozard was born March 30, 1925 in Bowman, SC to George Washington and Gracie Marie Bozard. He served in WWII in the US Navy from 1942-1945 as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class on Liberty ships, crossing the Atlantic eighteen times and surviving the sinking of his Liberty ship at age seventeen. Mr. Bozard had a long career as a truck driver for R.C. Motor Lines, retiring in 1982. He dedicated his life to his church, serving as a deacon, choir member, and on numerous committees. When not at church, he was reading his Bible, working in his garden, or piddling in the yard. He loved his projects.

Mr. Bozard is survived by his wife of 72 years, Abbie; sister, Gracie LaComb; his children, James Ronald (Tanya), Stephen (Diane), Timothy (Colleen); seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, DC, Sonny, Larry, and Donnie; sisters, Dorothy, Fairy Bell, and Beatrice.

A visitation for Mr. Bozard will be at Old Lexington Baptist Church in Leesville on July 22 at 10:00 AM followed by services at 11:00 AM and burial in the church’s cemetery. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Mr. Bozard’s life. I
