Byon "Pete" Grubaugh was born in 1891 to Myron E. Grubaugh and Sarah Ann Fitzgerald. He was the first of their 7 children. His tombstone, his obituary and his World War II Draft Registration give his birth year as 1890. The 1900 census and his World War I Draft Registration give his birth year as 1891. His marriage certificate gives his birth year as 1892. His parents were married in Oct 1889, making Jan 1890 an early birth date unless Sarah was already pregnant at the time they were married. The next child to be born to Myron and Sarah was Olive May Grubaugh and she was born in Sep 1892, so she wouldn't be a factor in selecting the birth year. I've gone with 1891 because of the marriage date. Most of his siblings are shown in one of the two LDS Databases of Michigan births, but Byon's record is not yet included.

Byon spent almost all of his life in the Gratiot County/Clinton County area. He married Florence M. Stevens on 5 Dec 1914 in St. Johns, Clinton County. They had one child - Glenn Byon Grubaugh (1915-1992). Byon died in 1961 and Florence died 8 years later.
