(Diane Johnson) Ernst; dear grandfather of, Amy Ernst, Hannah Ernst, Leah Ernst and Elana (David) Silverstein; and great grandfather of Maya Silverstein; dear brother of the late Teddy, Rudy, Sylvia, Edward, Rosella, Clara, and Helen.
Adam was born on February 19, 1922 in Donnelly, Minnesota to Adam and Catherine (nee Maisch) Ernst. He worked as a meat cutter all of his life and owned a grocery store in Addison, Illinois. Adam and Evelyn raised their two sons in La Grange Park, Illinois. Adam loved to dance, socialize, people-watch, and play the harmonica. He maintained a wonderfully entertaining, playful sense of humor throughout his life, and enjoyed telling stories of his youth in Loveland, Colorado. He is loved “a bushel and peck and a barrel and a heap” by his family and pets. On Thursday, July 13, 2017, Adam passed away in Niles, Illinois.
