Rose Mary Thomason Blanchard Smith

Daughter of George Washington Thomason of Kentucky and Margaret Jane Thomas of Missouri. She was the second wife of widower Charles Eugene Blanchard, the son of Albert Alvin Blanchard and Mary S Pullman. They were married about 1889 and had the following children:
* Zilpha Blanchard, Mrs James Baleme 1890–1966
* Ordelia Blanchard 1892-1893
* James Eugene Blanchard 1895–1921
* William Henry Blanchard 1897–1926
* Maggie Margaret Blanchard b 1902
* Alice Blanchard b 1904
* Edith Blanchard b 1907
* George Blanchard 1910-1912

The 1910 census lists Charles, Rose, Zepha, Eugene, William, Maggie, Alice and Edith, living in their owned home in Township 3, Tuolumne County. Charles lists parents are from Michigan, he is a farmer born about 1858 in California, married 21 years. Rose has parents from Virginia and Missouri while she was born in California about 1870.
The 1920 census lists Charles, Rose, William with a teacher/lodger James F Herrington aged 34, their home is now called Big Oak Flat, Tuolumne.
The 1930 census lists Charles and Rose, the home valued at $1000 in Township 3, Tuolumne County.
The 1940 census has her renting at 1317 I (1st?) Street, Modesto, and widowed.
The Modesto City Directory lists Rose (with CE listed as spouse) at 1317 I Street from 1932 to 1946.

The cemetery records list her as Rose M Smith, perhaps remarried a Smith after Charles died in 1931, since she lived to 1963.

Her California Death index confirms the last name of Smith, mother's maiden names and both dates.
