William J. Schiffbauer, 91, Muscotah, died Sunday at the Horton hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Muscotah Methodist church and burial will be in the Muscotah cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
Ralph Lassen, Ben Baumann, Elmer Hunsaker, Asa Beyer, Willard Royer and Judge Frank Hunn will be pallbearers. Chaney mortuary, Horton, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schiffbauer was born March 29, 1874, at Arrington, a son of Henry and Margaret Schiffbauer. He attended school at Arrington and later farmed in that community. He had been a Muscotah resident since 1957. He and the former Ella Stauffer of Arrington were married June 1, 1904. He was a member of the Muscotah Methodist church, Muscotah Masonic lodge 116, Muscotah OES, and was a past patron. He also was a member of the Crescent White Shrine.
Mr. Schiffbauer served as a trustee of Kapioma township several years. He enjoyed growing flowers and was an ardent gardener.
Surviving are Mrs. Schiffbauer of the home; two brothers, R. I. Schiffbauer, Holton, and Henry Schiffbauer, San Antonio, Tex., and nine nieces and nephews.
Three sisters and a brother died previously.
