Rebecca "Jane" Clarke was born in Kentucky. Her first marriage was to Noah Burrow on 15 Mar 1829 in Jefferson County, Alabama. Together they had four children: James, William, John, and Rebecca. Noah died about 1846 probably in Tippah County, Mississippi. Jane then married Isaac Timmons, and besides raising the children from her first marriage, they had at least two children: Andrew M, and Silas Jerry Timmons. Isaac Timmons moved his family from Tippah County, Mississippi to Mine Creek, Hempstead, Arkansas between 1856 and 1860. He had moved them back to Tippah County, Mississippi by 1870 and then back to Howard County, Arkansas by 1880. After Jane died in Howard County in 1889, Isaac moved to Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma Territory and married an older Cherokee woman in 1894.
