Services for James E. Alexander, 70, 1500 Grant Avenue, who died Sunday afternoon in a Boise hospital after illness, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McBratney-Alden-Waggoner Chapel, with the Rev. Kermit Kaczor, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Lawn.
He was born Jan. 19, 1896 in Bennett, Neb. He lived the early years of his life in Nebraska, and served in the Army during World War I. He moved to Boise from Blackfoot in 1941. He worked at the Boise Veterans Administration hospital for several years, then for the City of Boise. He retired in 1961. He married Deva Freytag Feb. 21, 1951, in Boise. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and of Sawtooth Barracks No. 217 and Veterans of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Deva Alexander, Boise; a son, Paul Alexander, Portland; a step-son, Jay Freytag, Hollywood, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Joanne Bradley, Boston, and Mrs. Judy Fascilla, Jerome; two brothers, Jerry Alexander and Emett Alexander, both of Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Rosamond Beecham, Garden Grove, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers include Charley Bradley, Ray Dougherty, Joseph Fascilla, Reo Tomlinson, Merrill MacQuivey and Stan Stringfellow.
Friends may call at the chapel until 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
