Margaret was born on January 1, 1925 in Santa Fé, her parents were Glenn R. Haste and Elsie M. Berger Haste.
Peggy was a resident of Albuquerque since 1955 and a lifelong resident of New Mexico.
Peggy married Myrtis W. Counts on January 17, 1948. Myrtis preceded her in death in 1995. Together they had three children.
Peggy and Myrt spent many happy years building and enjoying their cabin in Platoro, CO, where she was an avid fisher.
Peggy is survived by her children, Martha "Marti" Brittenham and her husband, Philip of Tijeras, James W. Counts and his wife, Irene of Alamogordo and Janeen Counts of Tijeras, brother, Glenn Haste, Jr. and his wife, Bettye of Oak Ridge, TN, grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew Brittenham, Joel and Rene Molenda and Joshua and Kate Douglas and eight great-grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Elsie Haste, husband, Myrtis, sister, Evelyn Worley and son-in-law, Michael Wade Douglas.
Peggy was a life member of OES #19 in Santa Fé, a member of Yucca Temple, Daughters of the Nile and Alhydaiya Committee. Peggy was also a member of St. John's Methodist Church.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at French - University.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ballut Abyad Shrine Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni Rd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
