Anna “Ann" Koch was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 2, 1927 to James and Mary (Peterson) Goldstraw.
Ann passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at home. She is now lovingly reunited with her husband of 57 years Donald J Koch, Sr., whom she wed on January 24, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland at St. Mary Star of the Sea, where they were devout and active parishioners. He preceded her in death April 29, 2005.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Ann was always there to support family and friends and had a quick and wicked sense of humor. She cherished time with her extended family, loved vacationing at Bethany Beach, DE, celebrating Labor Day weekend at the Blickenstaff family farm and enjoyed watching football - she was a huge Ravens fan.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Donald J. (Phyllis) Koch, Jr. , Frederick, MD; Thomas M. Koch, Myrtle Beach , SC; Teresa A. De Witt, Silver Spring, MD; Cynthia G. (Steven) Riston, Orchard Beach, MD; 8 loving grandchildren and their spouses; 11 great-grandchildren and brother, George W. Goldstraw, of Frederick, MD. She was predeceased by granddaughter Jessica L. Koch.
Her daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Steve lovingly cared for her the last 4 years of her life. Her niece Junie Watts was instrumental in getting Anna to and from doctors’ appointments. The family gives them their greatest gratitude.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
