Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home with Donnie Harris officiating, assisted by Raymond Jr. Deason.
Burial will be at Fuller Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, he was born May 30, 1939, the son of the late Garvie and Agnes Lacy Gilkey.
He had worked in sales for the auto industry, and drove the No. 11 car in racing. He was a member of Faith Chapel General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Deason Gilkey; his daughter, Jeannette Alene Gilkey Gentry, Christian County; his sons, Jesse Lynn Gilkey and Jerry Dale Gilkey, both of Christian County; his sisters, Daisy Marie Gilkey, North Carolina, and Pansy Jines, Dupont, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
