Jo Pittman, 73, of Brunswick, departed this life Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Nahunta. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, July 15, 2017 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Batten officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Pittman was born September 19, 1943 in Telfair County, Georgia to the late Leonard and Mettie White. Jo had been a resident of Glynn County for most of her life. She was an associate of Publix and was known affectionately as "Ms. Publix" by many patrons. She was a member of Fellowship Methodist Church in Brunswick and enjoyed shopping, and working at Publix. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pittman, a grandson, Kurt Bertholf, and a great grandson, Wendell Bertholf, Jr.
Survivors include three children, Debbie Culpepper (Ricky) of Nahunta, Joyce Bertholf (Shelton) of Brunswick, and Tony Pittman (Leigh) of Rocky Point, NC, three grandchildren, Wendell Bertholf, Johnny Bertholf, and Alex James, five great grandchildren, Kailey Bertholf, Hayden Vaughn, Emma Bertholf, Zoey Bertholf, and Emmet Bertholf, three brothers, Wendell White, Charlie White, and W.R. White, and one sister, Mable Jent, all of Alamo, GA.
