Laverne Hiple, 96, passed away on November 11, 2015, at Unity Pointe Hospice-Legacy Pointe in Waukee. Family will have private graveside services.

Laverne was born on April 30, 1919, in Garwin to Glenn and Beatrice Arment Hiple. He graduated from Montour school in 1937. Laverne was enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. On June 29, 1946, Laverne was united in marriage to Eileen Delawder in Dayton, Ohio. They called Marshalltown home as well as West Des Moines. Laverne worked for Lennox Industries for over 35 years before retirement in 1983. He was also a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.

Laverne is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eileen. Children: Deborah Morris, of Omaha, and Douglas Hiple, of West Des Moines. a grandchild, a great grandchild a niece and nephew and a niece-in-law.

Laverne is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Beatrice, brother Forrest Hiple and nephew Mark Hiple.
