Four Were Killed In The Granville Wreck

A horrible wreck, caused by a head-end collision of two Great Northern trains, occurred at Granville Friday noon which resulted in the death of four person, three railroad men and one farmer. The trains colliding were No. 6, the east bound passenger, and the daily freight from Sherwood branch. Among the dead are Fred Barlow, engineer.

Fred Barlow, one of the best known and most highly esteemed engineers who made Minot his headquarters was fearfully hurt. He lived nearly an hour. Altho he was suffering terrible agony, he remained conscious to within ten minutes of his death, and realized that his time was near at hand. He sent verbal messages to his wife, his brothers, and loved ones at home and was brave to the end, just as he had always been in his capacity as an engineer.
