Middle name (if any) has not been determined.

He may have actually died on December 30, 1887; the date he left home to cross the Ohio River. See death notices and following explanation.
Vincent was a son of Irwin Applegate, Sr. (1806-1902) & Catherine McMonigle (1809?-1895).
Vincent first married Harriet Jacobs (1834-????) on April 12, 1855 in Harrison County, Indiana. They had five identified children.
Vincent then married Adeline Kern (1838-????) on June 30, 1879 in Meade County, Kentucky. They had one identified son.
Vincent then married Nancy Minton (1824-1904) on July 1, 1885 in Harrison County, Indiana.
Vincent drowned in the Ohio River. His body was found floating in the Ohio River on March 10, 1888. He was declared legally dead on March 16, 1888. His home at time of death was in Corydon, Harrison Co., Indiana. It is believed he drowned when his skiff (boat) upset while attempting to cross the river to Meade County, Kentucky.
Vincent and his first wife, Harriet, were also first cousins.
It is assumed his remains were buried in Meade County, Kentucky. However, since he claimed Harrison County, Indiana as his residence at time of his death, there is a possibility he was buried there. No public or family records exist today that reveal his actual burial location.
