Mrs. Ruth Fowler Bryan, 83, of Winston-Salem died Monday, July 24, 2006. She was born July 19, 1923, in Forsyth County to the late Coy and Leslie Wilson Fowler. Mrs. Bryan was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church. She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Bryan; a son, Walter R. Bryan Jr.; sisters Betty Pittman and Frances Young; and brothers Joe Fowler and Jack Fowler. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Stephens; a son, Timothy Bryan, and wife, Libby; a sister, Sylvia Roberts, and her husband, Delano; grandchildren Caroline Moser, Amy Mawhorr and husband, Jeff, Tima Hammel and husband, John, and Adam Bryan; and great-grandchildren Coy and Courtney Mawhorr and Krista Hammel. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today, July 27, at Davis Chapel in Winston-Salem. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Bryan will be in the chapel 30 minutes before the service. (Vogler Reynolda)
