Adabelle Marie Myatt, 96, of Bettendorf, formerly of Maquoketa, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 after a brief stay at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

A memorial celebration and luncheon will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at The Fountains, 3726 Thunder Ridge Rd. in Bettendorf. Cremation rites have been accorded as per Mrs. Myatt's wishes. Inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a favorite charity of your choice. McGinnis- Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting with arrangements.

Adabelle was born December 25, 1920, in Maquoketa, the daughter of William J. and Daisy Belle (Wilcox) Busch. She married Robert B. Myatt on June 23, 1960, in Savannah, IL. Mrs. Myatt taught school in Jackson County for 38 years; starting in country schools and finishing her career as a first grade teacher at Briggs Elementary. Her memberships include: Retired Teachers of Jackson County, Jackson County Historical Society, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed television, working puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, William (Christina) Myatt and grandchildren Zachary and Anna Marie Myatt of LeClaire; step-daughter, Barbara (Tom) Pestka of Maquoketa; step-son, Robert Bruce (Sandra) Myatt of Palm Harbor Florida; fishing buddy Judy Dunne of Dubuque; brother-in-law, LeRoy Powelka; numerous step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons, Howard Wayne and Galen Lee; her husband Robert Myatt (1974); grandson, Alexander Myatt (1999); sisters, Agnes Paulsen (2006) and Virginia Powelka (2017); and great-niece, Ashley Powelka.
