Sgt. Jonathan D. Cadavero of Tuxedo and Takoma Park, Maryland graduated cum laude from Columbia Union College in Maryland with a bachelor's degree in counseling psychology. Columbia is a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He made the dean's list every year, and was also a member of an academic honor society and a psychology honor society. He was also a Who's Who nominee, and a favorite player on the basketball team. About a month before he graduated, in December 2004, he expressed his support for President Bush in a Newsday article, calling Bush "the right president to continue the war on terrorism. He's not afraid to do the unpopular thing. He was 24.
