Evangelist Lucille Evelyn Reese, age 82, passed away August 17, 2003 at Methodist Hospital Northlake. She is a former resident of Taylor, Texas, and a Gary resident for thirty-seven years. She was a
member of Pleasant Grove M.B. Church for thirty-seven years, serving as the Financial Treasurer, Choir member, and Mother of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlen Reese, and twelve sisters and brothers. She leaves to mourn her passing; four daughters, Evelyn Patterson and Bonnie Jefferson, both of Gary, Indiana, Beauty Walker and Dollie Gray, both of Austin, Texas; and one son, Elvia Reese of Austin, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation Services, Friday, August 22, 2003 from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Family Hour from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel.
Funeral Services, Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove M.B. Church, 2600 Virginia Street with the Reverend Willie Easter officiating.
Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
