He retired in 1992 from Reike Corp. in Auburn as Quality Control Manager, after 30 years. He was a member of Pheasants Forever Ducks Unlimited, was an avid trap shooter and a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Auburn.
He married Virgie (Sims) Allmandinger, May 15, 1954, in Fort Wayne.
Survivors include his wife of Auburn; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Kathy Allmandinger of Butler; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Jeff Hess of Rome City; two sisters, Lois Dettmer of Fort Wayne and Karen Grote of Valparaiso; three grandchildren, Adam Allmandinger, Amy Maloney and Brandy Hess; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Allmandinger.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Feller Funeral Home in Waterloo, with the Rev. Stephen Kummernuss officiating. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
