SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City for LoaJean "Jean" Barto of Springfield, who died Feb. 16 of age-related causes. She was 81. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Corvallis to Benjamin and Effie Day Moorehouse. She married Donald Barto on July 24, 1949, in Eugene. He died May 23, 1977.
She was a homemaker. She had worked as a school bus driver for Springfield School District and worked at Diamond A Cannery in Eugene and Roar Aircraft Manufacturing in California.
Survivors include her domestic partner, Derald Chaney; a daughter, Linda Peterson of Springfield; a sister, Ruth Moorehouse of Arlington, Wash.; a brother, Bill Cartwright of Monroe, La.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Sherry Barto, died in 1952, and a domestic partner, Clarence Beeley, died in 1993.
Private burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City.
