Born March 20, 1950, in Cottonwood, the youngest daughter of Ray and Hildegarde Uhlenkott. She graduated from St. Gertrude's Academy High School in 1968 and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Seattle University in 1972.
She worked as a registered nurse for Visiting Nurses Association in Providence, R.I., Boston, and Gainesville, Fla., before settling in Seattle. She most recently worked at Providence Mount St. Vincent.
Elaine is survived by Dennis, her husband; their children, Aaron, Erika, Lara and Kathleen; her brothers, Chuck and Kerry, Tim and Arlene, Bill and Eileen, and Pat and Connie Uhlenkott, all of Cottonwood; sisters, Mary and Kathryn, both of Boston; last surviving uncle, Al Uhlenkott of Cottonwood; her mother-in-law, Georgina; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Monica; brother-in-law, Peter; and her 29 nieces and nephews, plus numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
There was a Catholic vigil Wednesday and a funeral Mass and reception will be celebrated at noon today, both at Holy Rosary Seattle Church, 4139 42nd SW Seattle.
Elaine will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In Elaine's honor, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Vincent de Paul.
