Another Saint was called home today (7 July 2017) to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Vi" was an amazing lady who believed that God put her here to help others. The kids in the neighborhood new her as Aunt Vi. A true role model and someone to try and be like as you grew up. Born 30 May 1929 in Sandstone, Summers County, West Virginia to Grover Cleveland and Betty Ann Sanford Ames. The youngest of 8 children and the last surviving member. On 25 February 1951 she married the love of her life Donald C Porter in Hume, New York. She is survived by a daughter Diane Porter (Richard) Fox of Lockport, NY and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers (Ernest, Lloyd, Clarence, Hugert, James and George). and sister Susie Jane (Lester) Lively. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lockport, New York at the convenience of the family. Her body has been donated to the University of Buffalo, Anatomical Gift Program. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 1 pm at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church 8445 Greiner Road, Williamsville, NY 14221
