Mrs. George was born January 2, 1924 in Smoke Hole, WV and was the daughter of the late Charles Kimble and Mary Susan (Judy) Kimble.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. George, Sr. in 1979; two daughters, Carolyn Sue George and an infant daughter; one granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Ketterman and one sister, Gertie Shreve.
Mrs. George was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Goldie is survived by two sons, James T. George, Jr. and Randy George, both of Petersburg, WV; four daughters, Elneta Crites of Rig, WV., Neva Crites and Mary Ellen Bergdoll, both of Petersburg, WV and Darlene Ketterman of Berlin Center, Ohio; one brother, Denton Kimble of Petersburg, WV., thirteen grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel with Elder J. Stephen Kimble officiating.
Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
