Nell Pirtle, age 82, of Russellville, left this earth Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home with her loved ones by her side. She was born January 20, 1935, in Bluff City to Claudie and Lucille Bever McBride.
She was a member of Fifth and Greenwich Church of Christ for over 60 years. She loved baking, party planning and all family gatherings. She was a seamstress and a loving caregiver of her husband.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa McCord; and a son-in-law, Johnny Wewers.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Pirtle; a daughter, Dana Wewers; a son-in-law, Bill McCord; five grandchildren and their spouses, Shane and Amanda Coley, Chris Coley, Ashlee Johnson, Kyle and Kayla Johnson and Travis and Kayla Gowin; three great-grandchildren, Addison Coley, Maelyn Gowin and Henry Gowin; her best friend and cousin, JoAnn Thomas; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Shinn Chapel with Mr. Dan Lightfoot and Dana Wewers officiating.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends 1:30 p.m., until service time in the chapel.
Pallbearers will be Shane Coley, Kyle Johnson, Rick Woods, Bill McCord, Travis Gowin and Chris Coley.
