A noble life has gone from our midst. Mrs. Jane Soules-Blanding departed this life at her home in Coral Jan. 23, 1894. Sister Blanding was born at Salt(f)leet, Canada, Aug. 20, 1840, and came to Kent county, Mich., in 1846, where she met and married E. J. Blanding, Feb. 15, 1858, and settled at Vergennes. In 1860 they removed to Coral where the remainder of her life was spent. She was blessed with four children, all of whom were spared to go with their father to lay the body of a loved and blessed mother to rest. Sister Blanding's life was given for her family and her friends whom she was alway(s) willing to help, and she seemed never to be weary when there was anything she could do for her children. She was a true Christian and with her husband was converted in the summer of 1859 at a campmeeting near Lowell, and for many years was a member of the M.E. church.
