Student THOMSON, Ga. - Cheryl Lynn Helmly, 17, daughter of William and Kim Helmly, entered into rest Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Thomson with the Reverend Roger Vest and Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating Interment will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, Ga. Cheryl was born in Richmond County and was Junior at Thomson High School. At Thomson High she was a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Club, and was voted Miss Congeniality of Thomson High School. She also participated in the Health Occupation Students of America and was projected to be an Honor graduate, having ranked 13th in her class of 294 students. Cheryl was active in the Relay for Life and was a member of Raysville Baptist Church. Survivors include her parents William H. Helmly, Jr. and Kim Bailey Helmly, Thomson; one brother, Will Helmly, Thomson; Maternal grandparents Mary Kate Holzendorf, Thomson and the Late Quinton K. Bailey. Paternal grandparents William Helmly, Sr., Thomson, and the late Terrie J. Helmly If so desired, memorials may be made the Relay for Life. Pallbearers will be Richard Morgan, Spencer Wyatt, Daniel Richardson, Adam Murphy, Alan Bussell, and Dustin Allen. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM in the fellowship hall at Harlem United Methodist Church in Harlem, Ga. Starling Funeral Home, Hwy 78, Harlem, Ga.
