Donald L. Schultz, 87, of Twin Falls passed away at home on Thursday evening, June 29, 2017, with family by his side to return to his Father in Heaven.

Don was born on May 6, 1930, to Beatrice Kropp and his stepfather Frank Schultz in Choteau, MT. Don grew up on a ranch in Great Falls, Montana where he learned work ethic, to farm and ranch and enjoyed bronc riding as a young adult. Don joined the United States Army in 1952 and was stationed at Camp Roberts where he served as a cook for his platoon for two years. After his service in the military he stayed in California for employment opportunities and met Dovie Sims and her three children Nettia, JoEllen and Lonnie and they married in 1962 and later had a daughter named Dawn.

The Schultz family moved to Quincy where he worked as a logger/faller. Years later the family moved to northern Idaho and later Hammet where he built his family a home and worked as a farmer, rancher and construction worker. Years later they moved to Mountain Home where Don and Dovie owned a Spanish restaurant named the Spanish Kitchen. He later worked on the Mountain Home Air Force Base as a construction worker and foreman where he built hundreds of residential and commercial properties.

Dovie passed away and Don married Jean Kelley and they resided in Mountain Home and were faithful members of the Church of the Nazarene. Years later they purchased land in Gooding, Idaho and built a beautiful home on Colorado Street. Don and Jean eventually moved to Twin Falls and Don worked on the Board of Trustees at the Church of the Nazarene in Kimberly, Idaho and later attended services at the Twin Falls location.

Don had a lot of passions and hobbies—playing the guitar, polka and country music, square dancing, woodworking, fishing, the Atlanta Braves, serving on church boards, politics and spending time with his family and friends. Above all, Don was a hard working and honest man who loved the Lord and his family.

He is survived by three daughters Nettia (Larry) Sheets, JoEllen Singh, Dawn Schultz and son Lonnie Woodley; daughters-in-laws Mae (Paul) Daniels and Gloria (Charlie) Wyllys; grandchildren Troy (Charia) Sheets, Jarrid Sheets, Jenifer (David) Ward, Mary Schultz, Shailene and Tanner Woodley and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Ray Johnson, mother Beatrice Kropp, stepfather Frank Schultz, sister Dolores Schultz, wives Dovie Sims and Jean Kelley.

Funeral services for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home at 2826 Addison Ave E in Twin Falls, Idaho 83301. Don will be laid to rest following a military rights on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery located at 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise, Idaho.
