Colonel Archibald Christie was an officer in the Royal Flying Corps He was the first husband of author Agatha Christie. They were married Christmas Eve of 1914.They had one daughter, Rosalind, who was born in 1919. Archibald asked Agatha for a divorce in 1926 because he had fallen in love with another woman due to their frequent separations. This led to the infamous disappearance of Agatha Christie which was resolved when she turned up, claiming amnesia, at Hydropathic Hotel, a spa located in Harrowgate, registered under the last name of her husband's mistress. To this day the full circumstances of her disappearance remain a mystery. The marriage ended in 1928. Christie's second marriage to Nancy Neele was very happy and lasted until her death in 1959.
