Steven Douglas Walden, age 66, of Adrian went to be with The Lord, Nov. 9, 2010.
He was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Adrian, the son of Elsy and Rose (Novack) Walden. He had two children, Gerald and Veronica Walden. On Sept. 24, 2005, he married Carmen Abraham, adding to his family Sonya Huff, Brandon Huff and Kimberly (Josh) Baker; one granddaughter, Keeli Huff; and a father in law, John Abraham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ralph; and four sisters, Janice, Shirley, Darlene and Mary.
After high school graduation, he served four years in the U.S. Navy as an aerial photographer. Steve worked for 40 years at Hydro Aluminum. His hobbies were motorcycle riding and car racing, especially the dirt track. He loved horse racing and bluegrass music. Steve was a member of the William C. Stark American Legion Post 97 in Adrian and attended the First United Methodist Church in Adrian.
He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with the Rev. Chris Brundage officiating. Military honors will follow and be performed by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard Team. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
