Steve Kleiss, 76, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:46 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL
Services celebrating his life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Michael Trautman officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Steve was born on January 16, 1940 in Urbana, IL, the son of Raphael and Dorothy M. Moore Kleiss. He married Connie Weasel. She survives.
Other survivors include his sons: Kurt Kleiss of Auburn, Todd Kleiss of Tuscola, daughter: Bonnie Dudley of Champaign, step-sons: James Russian and Christopher "David" Russian both of Tuscola, Robert Russian of Pesotum, Andy Rehg of St. Louis, MO and Eric Rehg of Charlotte, NC, brother: Vernon Kleiss of Pesotum, sisters: Connie Lee of Atwood, Janice Small of Champaign and Mary Burwell of Savoy, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter: Tracy Kleiss, He was previously married to Melinda Carroll and Christina Pointer, whom preceded him in death.

Steve retired as an elevator manager from Scoular Grain Company. He formerly owned and operated "The Golf Shop" in St. Louis and Columbia, MO. He served in the Illinois Army National Guard.
He was a member of the NRA and Pesotum American Legion Post #580.
Steve enjoying playing golf and baseball and collecting model trains.
