Lewis Augusta "L.A." Bumpass Jr., age 82, entered into eternal life Monday, June 26, 2017 at Pecan Point in Sherman, Texas.
Mr. Bumpass was born November 7, 1934 in Yuba, Oklahoma the son of Lewis and Sally (Shaw) Bumpass. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army. He met and married Mary Ann Corzine. Mr. Bumpass over the years, worked for LOF, White's Auto Store, and managed a lawn mower repair business. He loved to dance, fish and have family and friends to visit. He would have a fish fry at the lake every summer, the more the merrier. He would dress impeccably and had a smile that would light up the room. Although his passing leaves a void in all of our lives, he will live on forever in our hearts.
Mr. Bumpass leaves behind his family, son, Eddie Bumpass of Sherman, TX; sisters, Virginia Mullins and husband, Dick of Colbert, OK; and Norma Jean Cater of Brown, OK; brother, Joe Bumpass and wife, Sandra of Sherman, TX; brothers and sisters-in-law, R. C. Corzine and wife, Ruth of Sherman, TX; Kat Stacy and husband, Dale of North Carolina; David Corzine and wife, Gail of San Francisco, CA; Ron Corzine and wife, Ann of Ft. Worth, TX; and Jo Wood and husband, Greg of Colbert, OK; and a host of extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann his parents, Lewis and Sally, and sisters, Betsy Calfee and Nelma "Sis" Hull.
Funeral services for Mr. Bumpass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Brother Ron Corzine officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to service at the funeral home to visit.
