John Allen Moore of Hurst, Texas was born August 19, 1926 and passed away June 25, 2017 at 90 years, 9 months and 30 days. John was the son of John Wilson Moore and Ruth Inez (Allen) Moore. He was born on a farm 15 miles south of Dublin in The Purvis Community. He grew up in the Altman community, five miles north of Carlton, where he attended school. John served his country in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. Returning home, he and married Trula Jean Land on November 15, 1947. John worked for Phenix Dairy in Baytown, Texas, Boswell Dairy in Fort Worth, and as a Texas Department of Public Safety Texas State Trooper for 32 years. He was stationed in Weatherford, Dallas, Fort Worth and Fort Worth Turnpike, retiring in 1988. John was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Trula Jean (Land) Moore. He was survived by his wife, Betty L. Moore of Spring, Texas; daughters, Sheran Lea Duncan and husband Bob of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Donna Kay Kemp and husband Willis of Little Rock, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Audrey Fay Duncan and Jennifer Ruth Duncan of Kansas City, Missouri, and Natalie Elizabeth Kemp of Little Rock; a grandson, Nathan Willis Kemp of Dallas; a sister, Janice Lynn Munsell of Odessa, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst, followed with burial at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery.
