Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in New Corinth Baptist Church in Montgomery County. Burial will be in Galbreath Cemetery in Montgomery County. The Revs. Wayne White and Bob Corley will officiate.
A Vidalia native, Mr. Bennett lived in Brunswick for years before moving to Jasper 11 months ago. He was a disabled veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. He also was a member of New Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Bennett of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Jim Bennett of Brunswick; his mother, Ethel Booth Bennett of Jasper; and two sisters, Crystol Scott of Bethpage, Tenn., and Jane Grimsley of Hortense.
Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia has charge of arrangements.
