LaRene J. Clark passed away just four days short of her 95th birthday on June 24, 2017 in Malad, Idaho.

She was born on June 28, 1922 in Malad, Idaho. She was the first child of James Elmer and Jayne Elvira Williams. Being the oldest of four girls and having no brothers, she worked on the farm with her dad. During this time he didn’t have a tractor so all the work was done with horses.

LaRene married Paul LaGrand Clark in the Logan LDS Temple on April 3, 1941. They were blessed with two children, Brooks LaGrand Clark and Pauline Clark Kalm. The family moved to Malad from Clarkston, Utah in 1958. She and Paul spent many hours riding horses, camping, fishing, deer hunting and riding snowmobiles.

In April of 1960, LaRene went to work at the Oneida County Hospital. She started out working only or a few hours a week and retired 26 years later in February of 1986 as head of housekeeping. After retiring, she continued to work two days a week, retiring again in June of 1990. She worked at the hospital for over 30 years.

LaRene was a loyal Jazz fan, watching every game she could and loved talking about it with her family and friends. She always looked forward to the birthdays of her grandchildren and celebrating with them.

LaRene always felt very lucky to have been able to live alone until this last March with good home teachers and neighbors and family to check on her all the time.

LaRene is survived by her sisters: Marinda J. Swenson and Beverly J. Warner; her children: Brooks (Cheryl) and Pauline; her five grandsons: Brent, James, Jaysen, Jeff and Mike; 18 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren, with one more coming.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; sister, Gwelda Buttars; infant brother; son-in-law, Jerry Kalm; and two great-grandchildren: Dakota Clark and Laramie Jo Lloyd.

Thanks to the caring staff at the Nell J. Redfield Hospital and Long Term Care that took such wonderful care of mom.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 11 a.m. in the Malad LDS Stake Center, 1250 N. 1100 W. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Clarkston, Utah Cemetery.
