Grandma had suffered terribly for the past few months. We all are loath to part with her, but our loss is her gain. She had put her trust in Jesus some thirty five years ago, and was a member of the Baptist church. She was born in the state of Illinois, November 17, 1847. She came to Texas about 1859 where she has resided since. She met and married J.S. Rozell about 50 years ago. To them were born eight children, four of whom survive: Mrs. J.J. Martin of the Spur country, Mrs. Meadows of Eden, Texas; Mrs. Roberts, of Eldorado, Texas; and G.L. Rozell of Floydada, Texas. Her husband, J.S Rozell, was born in the state of Alabama, March 17, 1848. He came to Texas when a small boy died February 25, 1915, in Concho county, Texas.
Grandma had been making her home with Mrs. J.J. Martin since February, 1920. Her maiden name was Dinnie. She leaves a host of relatives and friends who will mourn her loss. But her spirit was caught away to that land of immortal day to await the resurrection of the body.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of Mrs. Martin, Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, by Rev. Geo. F. Smith, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Spur Cemetery.
