She was born December 20, 1912, at Mink Creek, Idaho, to Lawrence Brown Wilde and Sophia Lenora Antonia Nielsen Wilde. In April of 1918, the family moved to Iona. She attended high school in Iona through her junior year and then in her senior year she attended Ammon High School. She was active in school, serving as student body secretary, as a cheerleader. and was involved in music and drama.
On January 11, 1934, she married Orval Martin Forbes in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was a mother and homemaker and for 29 years worked at the Bonneville County Courthouse. In 1981, they began wintering in Overton, Nevada. Her husband preceded her in death on June 2, 1985. She lived in Idaho Falls for awhile before moving to St. George, Utah, in 1991.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout her life. She enjoyed dancing, walking, traveling, and summers spent in Manila, Utah. Eleda especially loved her family and her friendship with Bob Sexton, her caregiver and sidekick.

3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
