STRICKLAND Banner Lawrence Strickland, 81, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He leaves his wife of 23 years, Violet Ann Strickland; his three sons and their wives, Kevin (Darlene) Strickland, Chris (Amy) Strickland and Jeffrey (Christy Joy) Strickland; two sisters, Myrtie Highsmith and Clara Thornton; his brother, Milton Strickland and seven grandchildren. Born and raised in Blackshear, GA, the son of Farley and Mamie Strickland, he raised his family and retired in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Strickland served in the U.S. Army, made his civilian living as a shipfitter and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.A graveside service will be held at 11am, Friday June 30,2017 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jax.
