Kenneth Largo Madrona, Sr., 73, of Zanesville, Ohio, died June 9, 2017 at the Ohio State University Ross Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the U.S. Army Reserve 100th Battalion 442nd Infantry and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Avenue; funeral service at 7 p.m. Graveside urn committal service 12 noon Friday, June 30, 2017, at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

Survived by children, Shawn Calica, Sharyl Lee “Sha’le” (Ben) Madrona, Shannon Dee (Chad) Gill, Kenneth Madrona, Jr., Kristi (David) Madrona, Corie (Neilsen) Kia, Conrad (Lindsay) Madrona; brothers, Alfred Madrona, Bernard (Fern) Madrona; sisters, Catherine (Angel) Salgado, Irene (Leo) Roberts, Marsha (Frank) Pineda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
