“BUCKLIN, MO., Feb. 4 -- Funeral services for Nancy Anna West were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Larson Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Warren La Rose, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Bucklin. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.
The late Mrs. West was born Nancy Anna Michael, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Michael, May 12, 1868, and died at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 19 days. She was married to Silas West in 1885 and to this union eight children were born. Three preceded their mother in death. They were Ernest, Robert and Verlee. Mrs. West’s husband died in 1931.
She is survived by five children, Mrs. Jennie Lore, Mrs. Minnie Douglas, and Willie West of near Bucklin, Walter West of Kirksville and Mrs. Mae Satterman of Brookfield; one sister, Mrs. Charles Saltsider of near Hart; 36 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and other relatives and friends.” The Macon Chronicle-Herald, February 4, 1949
