The Murderer of Conro Expires in the City Prison Hospital. Gideon N. Barber, the murderer of Ootiro, died at the City Prison Hospital at six o'clock yesterday evening, from woulds inflicted by himself with suicidal intent. The Coroner took charge of the remains. According to statements made' by deceased, to Officer Pago, on the night of the shooting at the Market-street Lodging house, his age was thirty-five and his nativity Richmond, Rhode Island. The victim of his murderous jealousy, Andrew J. Conro, was aged, forty-five years old, and a native of New Jersey. An Inquest was held into Conro case yesterday, when the facts elicited did not differ from the account of the murder given in tho Alta. The witnesses before the Coroner's Jury were Dr. Wm. T. Garwood and Local Officer Page. The former, occupying apartments at the house, was present in half a minute after the shooting began. Oonro never spoke, and died in about a minute after roceivlng the shot. Both the doctor and the officer testified to the admissions' of Barber, who after killing his rival, entered the latter room, and shot himself. , Barber at first declaring that he would divulge nothing, was induced to relent by holding out that she he held so dear "would want to see liiui. This theory failed ; for Ella Carter, the woman named by Barber ' as the cause of his jealousy, proved a little shy of notoriety, and disappointed, nor has she's been heard of, although she is in no way legally implicated in the crime. . An inquest on the reviewing of the murderer-suicide will be hold, a mere formality, of course, us the facts were all shown yesterday.
