Barney Cushman, 70, of Orland died Jan. 27, 2002, in Orland.
Born June 18, 1931, in Orland, he was the son of Frederick and Camille Cushman. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954, and later owned and operated B. Cushman Trucking. He was also a farmer and land leveler for 18 years. He was a member of the Orland Moose Lodge, Past member of the Elks and the Orland Fire Dept. He loved to work.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Verna Cushman; sons, James of Orland and David of Travis Air Force Base; daughters in law, Cindy and Teresa; two brothers, Frederick Cushman of Orland and Allen Cushman of Las Vegas, NM; and three grandsons, Clayton, Colby and Daniel Cushman.
The family suggests memorials to Enloe Hospice or the charity of choice.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at FD Sweet & Son Mortuary in Orland. Private burial will be in Newville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of FD Sweet & Son. - Transcribed by E.
