DELOREY, Alfred Joseph - 78, Larry's River, Guysborough County, died Thursday in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish County he was a son of the late Hector and Annie (Avery) Delorey.

He was a retired employee of Bedford Institute of Oceanography and was a member of St. Peter's Church, Larry's River. He also served in the militia.

He is survived by five daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Victor Lombard), Jean (Mrs. Thomas Pelrine), both of Lower Sackville; Helen (Mrs. Joseph McGirr), Larry's River; Ethel (Mrs. Gary McKeeman), Mrs. Mary Fougere, both of Halifax; two sons, Albert, Upper Sackville; Mike, Port Hastings, Inverness County; a half-sister Katherine (Mrs. Burt Otterbridge), Ketch Harbour; Two half-brothers, Albert, Lakeside, Halifax County;Frank, Saint John; 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Avery; a son, Arthur; a half-brother, Frank; two half-sisters, Mary, Marie.

The body is in the family residence. Funeral will be held 2p.m. Sunday, St. Peter's Church, Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart Fund or St. Peter's Cemetery Fund.
