Served as a Private in the 34th Ohio Infantry in the Civil War.


Universalist preacher in Connecticut, Indiana, and all over Ohio. With his wife, the Rev. Charlotta "Lotta" Davis Crosley (1848-1917) he was part of a clergy-couple team at the Universalist church of Plain City, Ohio, 1880-1881. Two of his brothers were also Universalist ministers (Marion and Lucian).
