Mary Haseltine Motsinger was the fourth of five known children of Andrew Jackson Motsinger (1826-1901) and Mary Ann Beckerdite (1832-1884), who married 04 Apr 1861 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. After Mary Beckerdite Motsinger died, Andrew remarried to Sarah Haseltine Mendenhall (1855-1905) on 19 Apr 1888 at Forsyth County, North Carolina and had an additional three known children.
Mary married Christian Randall Garrison (1865-1907) on 15 Dec 1887 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. Mary and Christian were the parents of seven known children, namely:
1. John Andrew Garrison (1888-1972)
2. Mary Ann Garrison Yokeley (1890-1981)
3. Jesna Garrison Saintsing (1892-1976)
4. Cletus Arline Garrison (1896-1951)
