Clarence Leo McNary, fourth son of John Thomas (1861-1936) and Susan Elizabeth Morgan McNary (1866-1922), was born August 31, 1895, in Hardin County, Ky. He moved to Louisville, Ky. and served in the Army in WWI, c1917-18. He married in 1919, Ruby Leah Stith (1900-92), daughter of Rev. Walter Franklin (1864-1948) and Anna Lee Harned Stith (1864-1950), of Hardin County. Their four children were Zelma Lucile (1920-86), John Franklin (1923-73), Robert Eugene (1936-2012), and Bettye Anne McNary (1938-2011).

Bettye Anne McNary (1938-2011) lived in Louisville. She married in 1957, Lawrence Joseph Leis (1936-2020)(UCin. 1960), son of Lawrence George (1907-49) and Lillian Ursula Smith Leis (1911-88), of Louisville. He was an architect and was president and partner of Louis and Henry Architects. Some of the buildings he designed in Louisville were the Presbyterian Seminary, Jefferson County Hall of Justice, Louisville Science Center, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and 26 buildings at the University of Louisville. Their children are Susan Annette (Hanover 1981) who is a property manager in Cincinnati; Marc Lawrence (EKU c1983) who was a missionary in Shizuoka, Japan; and Lawrence Joseph Leis, Jr. (MissSt c1991)(LSU MBA 199_) who was with Oracle Corp. in Alpharetta, Ga. and was a professional golfer.
