Born in Woodruff, he was the husband of Margaret Sims Jackson and a son of the late Alec and Aurila Landford Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was retired from Poinsetta Food Products where he was the manager. Also, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, John C. Jackson Jr. and his wife, Susan of Greenville; a daughter, Deborah Jackson of Columbia; a brother, Walter Jackson of Rhode Island; four grandchildren, Christy Jackson, Adria Bright, Stacey Miller, Michael Turner; five great-grandchildren, Steven Bright, Christopher Jackson, Kaylan Jackson, Tres` Turner and Heather Turner. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Paul Jackson.
