Lucille Chastain Helton, age 73, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017
Mrs. Helton was born on August 20, 1943 in Hiawassee, Georgia to the late Robert Henry and Louise Flanagan Chastain. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Hazel Chastain; sisters, Jeanette Chastain, Marcell C. Wesson, Vanessa C. Stewart; brothers, Jimmy Chastain, Nelson Chastain, Van Chastain, Tony Chastain; grandchildren, Alexandria Dawn, and Austin Scott Helton. Mrs. Helton was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church. She was a long time active member of the Habersham Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Carl D. Helton, of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley Scott and Dawn Helton, of Clarkesville; sisters, Malissa C. Helton, of Cleveland; Bonnie Broner, of Cornelia; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Butch Franklin and Rev. Charles Holland officiating. Interment will follow in the Burch Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the funeral home.
