Cora F. Mullen, 90, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 10:00 p.m. EDT Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hamilton Grove Retirement Community in New Carlisle, Indiana. She was a devoted homemaker.

She was born May 22, 1927 in Paris, the daughter of the late Daniel Boone Elledge and the late Nellie Mae (Fewkes) Elledge. She married William Mullen, Jr. on April 19, 1946 at the Nazarene parsonage in Paris. He preceded her in death April 8, 2008.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Jean (David) Birchfield; five grandchildren, Clayton Mullen (Jah Qasem), Ryan Mullen, Cody (Renee) Mullen, Seth (Jennifer) Birchfield and Carrie (Les) Charlson; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Janet Mullen and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, William Daniel "Bill" Mullen; two brothers, Hobart and Charles Elledge and three sisters, Bertha Mae Janavich, Letha Cartwright and Margaret McManus.

Mrs. Mullen attended First Church of the Nazarene of Paris. Always concerned for the needs of others, Cora was an active volunteer and supporter of the Compassionate Food Pantry since the time of its inception. Above all else, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. 17/18
