Mrs. Frances Louise Bossier Bell Cooksey, 103, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont, after a brief illness.

Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating will be Dr. Larry Williams of Broadmoor Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cooksey was born to Rupert Roy Bossier, Sr. and Claudia Clare Boswell on September 9, 1913 in Collins, MS and was a resident of Shreveport, LA for 102 years. She and her first husband, Gus were graduates of the 1930 Class at C.E. Byrd High School. She was a LPN for a short time, enjoyed gardening, music, and playing the piano. She taught Sunday school at Queensborough Baptist Church for many years.

Mrs. Cooksey was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Gus F. Bell, Jr.; sister, Eleanor Claire; brother, Rupert Roy Bossier, Jr.; and second husband, W. J. Cooksey.

She is survived by her son, R. F. Bell and wife, Nancy; three grandchildren, Richard, Amy, and Anne; and many nieces and nephews.
